In 1962 Holden launched a completely new, lower-profile streamlined body with more interior space, new foam-padded seating and better all-round visibility.
The “Premier” model was introduced and the name “Premier”, was to be identified with luxury Classic Holden Cars for 16 years. The EJ Premier, first with standard metallic paint and auto transmission, offered leather trim bucket seats, heater, carpet, floor console and whitewalls. The EJ had Duo Servo brakes, strengthened front suspension, safety belt anchorages.

Could you please verify if the EJ Holden ever came off the assembly line with a “red 149 or 179 motor” as standard.

No it did not, the EJ was the last model with the ‘grey’ engine, the 149 & 179 were introduced with the EH in late 1963.
Hi Greg, I read somewhere towards the end of the EJ run they ran out of GREY motors and the last few were fitted with RED motors as gmh already had them for the EH, ??? Bob.

Just found out that my EJ was the 20,085th built. Wondering which month that would have been?And how close that was the the 1,000,000th? What number EJ was the millionth?
