Hi Greg, I read somewhere towards the end of the EJ run they ran out of GREY motors and the last few were fitted with RED motors as gmh already had them for the EH, ??? Bob.

No it did not, the EJ was the last model with the ‘grey’ engine, the 149 & 179 were introduced with the EH in late 1963.

Could you please verify if the EJ Holden ever came off the assembly line with a “red 149 or 179 motor” as standard.
